Fleet Garage Supervisor (2nd Shift)


The Fleet Garage Supervisor oversees a wide variety of duties that help ensure that all company vehicles are operational. He/she is responsible for ensuring that vehicles are regularly maintained and that unscheduled maintenance issues are promptly addressed. The Fleet Garage supervisor supports vehicle maintenance programs and safety policies. He/she assists in maintaining the physical condition of company vehicles by scheduling cleaning and maintenance, inspecting vehicles, and issuing work orders for repairs as needed. He/she supervises teams of workers, deals with personnel issues and addresses daily problems or issues that may arise and actively participates in the hiring process and performance review process.


  • Trains staff and monitors their performance and progress
  • Plans work schedules for maximum equipment productivity
  • Supports meetings as necessary
  • Promotes and foster good employee relations and morale in the shop
  • Participates in department meetings and gives input to the Safety Director
  • Actively involved in the hiring, supervision and development of department personnel
  • Initiate Work orders on maintenance system
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on fleet
  • Perform all repairs that are required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school and PA Inspection License for Heavy Duty Truck and Auto preferred, Associates or bachelor’s degree a plus
  • At least 3 years of supervisor experience, preferably in heavy duty truck repair
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards with an appropriate professional image
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing changes and short timelines
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels in an organization and possesses excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
  • A demonstrated relationship builder
  • A strong supervisor experienced in training, motivating and team building skills
  • The ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
