HR Generalist

Job Summary

Responsible for designing and administering human resources policies and procedures. Work closely with HR Director in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices across all corporate entities. 

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Assist managers in implementing various human resource programs and procedures for all corporate entities 
  • Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives  
  • Manages recruiting and onboarding process, including conducting interviews, as necessary, for exempt and non-exempt personnel  
  • Handles employee relations counseling  
  • Administers compensation program, monitors performance appraisal process, works with managers to effectively implement, and revise as necessary  
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment 
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts 
  • Assists in the deployment of corporate wellness initiatives and employee benefits programs 
  • Prepares interval employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies.  
  • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects 
  • Provides project management support for various HR projects and recommends changes as needed 
  • Conducts audits of various human resource programs and recommends any corrective action. 
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continuous improvement efforts within the human resources department  
  • Facilities benefit administration to include claims resolution, open enrollment, change reporting and ensure communication of annual notices 
  • EEO-1 Reports annually 
  • Assist in exit interview process as well as the processing of terminations 
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification required
  • 5-8 years of prior experience in Human Resources
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations  
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize activities and assignments 
  • Excellent communication skills (telephone, oral, and written) including spelling and grammar 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, responsibility, and confidentiality 
  • Advanced technology skills related to internet research, computer software applications and computer hardware usage
