Line Production III, ALT Shift (M-Th, 7:30 pm to 6:00 am)

Job Summary:

Provides and supports manufacturing equipment, materials and labor, ensuring products are selected, blended, and packaged in an efficient manner, meeting customer quality expectations and on-time delivery specifications.

 

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for start-up, operation, change over, shut down and preventive maintenance of assigned production equipment, including, but not limited to, production line equipment, forklifts or other power equipment
  • Serve as the accountable leader of the shift during vacancy of Production Supervisor
  • Serve as backup to QA Specialist, if needed
  • Assist in the training for new manufacturing equipment, materials, and processes
  • Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently in accordance to Company Safety Policy
  • Perform manual tasks such as: loading and supplying production line items, reworking product and loading conveyors
  • Report any inferior ingredients or raw materials to QA Specialist
  • Provide general plant, production line and facility clean up (5S)
  • Provide Leadership for Continuous Improvement efforts of the Process Operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Corrective Actions (CA)
  • Provide support in yearly recertification of Safe Quality Food (SQF)
  • Maintain performance metrics of the processes, OEE, EE, Direct Labor Cost Per Case metrics
  • Work order interpretation, measuring and storage/retrieval from WIP inventory
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Production Supervisor

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Education:

  • 2-year technical degree preferred; combination of technical education and one (1) year production experience preferably in food and beverage environment. may be acceptable
  • Must be technically proficient
  • Must be able to prioritize and possess the ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Focus on safe work practices and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency; demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Work efficiently as a self-directed Operator or in a team environment.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and instruct diverse group of production employees
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, exhibiting creativity in developing situations
  • Possess competency to run all machines on production floor on a consistent basis
  • Physically able to safely lift ingredients / equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. (single)
  • Forklift experience (required)
  • Must be available to work 4, 10-hour shifts, Monday – Thursday, 7:30pm – 6:00am; be willing to work overtime as needed, based on production demands
