Chicken and waffles done the Pennsylvania Dutch way means tender roasted or stewed chicken, shredded and lovingly put to bed atop a hot waffle (homemade or frozen…don’t sweat the small stuff) and bathed in rich, smooth, creamy chicken gravy. It's epic comfort food!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Old-Time Chicken Gravy mix (SKU 428205)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken, coarsely shredded
  • homemade or frozen prepared waffles
Instructions
  1. In a heavy saucepan, thoroughly combine the water and gravy mix with a wire whisk. Bring mixture to a boil, over medium high heat until thickened..
  2. Add milk and continue to simmer for 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid scorching.
  3. Add shredded, cooked chicken to gravy and simmer on low for 5 minutes.
  4. Make homemade waffles or heat frozen waffles according to the directions on the package.
  5. To assemble, place a waffle on a plate and top with finished chicken gravy.
  6. Option: Add mashed potatoes if you’re into it!
